At KFMT we take a 3 dimensional approach to trying to understand your problems by doing a detailed analysis of your complaints, using that to inform our physical examination and making sure we’re considering all aspects of your health that may be contributing to your issues.
If you are experiencing pain or discomfort that is limiting your ability to live your life the way you want or just want to improve your movement or performance, we use our approach to find answers and help even when past attempts have been unsuccessful.
Your Initial session will be different from your follow ups. At the initial session we will ask many questions about your current issue(s), the history of these issues and your overall medical and health status. We will do a thorough physical examination, give a general overview of what we think the treatment course may look like and in most cases will do some hands on treatment and/or exercise and movement with you. We recommend arriving early and having your intake paperwork done prior to arriving so you can spend more time with the therapist, not filling out forms.
Follow up treatments will be less evaluation and talking and more hands on work, exercise and movement that is tailored to your specific needs based on the therapist’s evaluation. All sessions are 60 minute 1 on 1 sessions with your Physical Therapist and all PTs are Certified Functional Manual Therapists (CFMT) or will be certifying within the next 1-2 years.
Please bring any x-rays, MRI, CT reports or other documentation pertinent to your current condition and Physical Therapy Prescription (if you have one). Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows for the areas of concern to be exposed – the better we can see and feel how your body moves, the better we can care for you and get to the root of what’s causing you pain.
Visit our functional manual therapy page for a comprehensive list of what can be treated.
