In-Studio Policies

Zero tolerance policy

Kinected and the Kane School have a zero tolerance policy against racism, hate speech, bullying, ableism, fat phobia, and all other harmful behaviors. Any student currently in a Kane School program or enrolled in a continuing education course that is found in violation of this policy will be immediately dismissed with no refund. Any Kane School alumni found in violation of this policy will be prohibited from updating their certification. False superiority, in any form, causes suffering: not just to others, but to ourselves as well. As students, teachers, practitioners, employers and employees, alike, we must recognize these forces at play and practice what we preach. Individually and collectively, we must analyze our systems from the ground up and work to extinguish patterns that cause pain and suffering to our community. Together, one step at time, we must evolve.” I feel like this policy actually needs specifics on what happens if a person is accused of a violation – like, they will be subject to review by Directors of Education and, if found guilty, subject to potential consequences including but not limited to the following (list from above). A student may appeal this decision once and ask for a second review by another member of Kane School ownership; the second decision is final. The Kane School and Kinected reserve all rights to ask clients or students in violation of the above policies to leave the premises, without refund.

COVID policy as of 1/1/26

Masks are required for PT and craniosacral therapy, not for any other services or courses at kinected. Surgical masks are available if needed. Our studio is equipped with HEPAs. Please stay home if you’re sick with a communicable illness and follow all current CDC guidelines for masking post-illness.

Appointment policy

All appointments are 60, 75 or 90 minutes and may be made with the front desk staff or by requesting an appointment online. For first-time clients, please arrive a few minutes early to complete your client forms. Please create a Kinected MindBody account, and save a payment card to file before completing your client forms.

Booking policy

A valid credit card is required to book a studio service. If a service is cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment or class start time, or left unpaid upon leaving the studio, we reserve the right to charge the card on file for the full value of the service.

Confirmation policy

Appointment confirmations are sent to clients by email at the time a service is booked, as long as the client has their MindBody account settings enabled for emails.  Appointment reminders are sent by email two days prior to date of service, subject to the client’s email settings on their MindBody account. We are not responsible for clients not receiving emails because of their email provider settings, spam settings, or MindBody settings; if you are unsure of your schedule, please contact the front desk more than 24 hours before the start time of a scheduled service to confirm.

Cancellation policy

We require 24-hour notice when canceling sessions and/or group equipment classes. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment and/or group equipment class will be subject to the full charge.

Packages and refunds

Unless otherwise specified, packages expire one year from the date of purchase; all sales are final.

Tardiness policy

Classes and sessions are forfeited 10 minutes after their scheduled start time unless otherwise specified by the instructor or front desk. Forfeited classes are treated as late cancellations, which means the client is responsible for the full cost of the service.

Payment

Payment is due upon completion of sessions/services. Kinected reserves the right to charge the card on file at completion of the session or in the case of a late cancellation. The credit card on file will only be charged if there is no active package on the account. If there is no active package on the account, a one week payment grace period will be given. After one week, the card on file will be charged for a single session. This single session cannot be added to the next package purchase. If you wish be notified before a charge is placed, please contact the Front Desk to have your account noted.

CEC (Continuing education credits)

Certificates are not diplomas but indicate a graduate is currently certified by the Kane School. To keep this certification, alumni are required to take continuing education courses that compliment or advance their pilates teaching. Mat alumni are required to take 5 Kane CECs annually; apparatus alumni are required to take an additional 5 for 10 total Kane CECs. CECs can only be applied to the calendar year in which the course took place and the following calendar year. Alumni must fill out an annual CEC renewal form and pay a fee in order to continue to be certified by the Kane School; a lapse will result in being removed from the alumni map and not being considered certified by the Kane School. We do not retroactively recertify, and alumni must work on the current or following calendar year when updating their CEC status. Certificates can only be issues or re-issued to alumni with current CECs. Kane School CECs (KS CECs) are calculated as follows:

  • Kinected continuing education live online or in-studio, or pre-recorded on Virtually Kinected: 1 hour = 1 KCEC
  • Kinected monthly in-person masterclasses: 1 hour = 2 KCECs
  • Kinected annual alumni summit: please check annual announcement for KCEC valuation
  • Any continuing education besides the above 1 hour = 0.5 KCEC

*Once you receive your mat certificate please visit our alumni directory to add yourself to our alumni map.
